Introduction to UK Parliament lessons - 2x 1 hour Citizenship lessons all about Parliament and Law Making. Students will learn all about the Houses of Parliament, the Commons, the Lords and the different positions within, as well as how it operates. An assembly all about turning over a new leaf and being ambitious and changing your attitude. There is a big focus on working hard and how you can change your mindset to be more positive at any time. It lasts about 15 -20 minutes if clips are watched and questions asked too. The assembly uses the story of how Jay-Z escaped a tough childhood and gangs by working incredibly hard and throwing himself into writing and music.
It follows Shawn (the young Jay-Z - hopefully students won’t recognise who the assembly is about until the end) as he grows up as a troubled boy in Brooklyn, through the departure of his father, his grades slipping at school and how he eventually reached a crossroads. With encouragement from his mother, young Shawn decided to change his attitude and make a fresh start. The assembly emphasises the importance of hard work, staying positive and taking the opportunity presented by making a fresh start in life - which can be especially related to at the beginning of a school term.
There are optional clips to watch throughout and teacher notes (in the slide notes of the PowerPoint) with suggested questions that can be posed at each point and ideas to reflect on.
It has a couple of jokes thrown in too. More slides in the actual assembly - this is just a small selection for the preview.

What is respect KS1/Year 1/Autumn 1 PSHE lesson. Created with a view to being delivered in the first term of the year, this hour-long, fully resourced lesson is a perfect introduction to the concept of respect, and how we can behave respectfully to others.
Whilst the lesson has been created with Year 1 in mind, the PowerPoint and activities may also be suitable for adjacent year groups. In this lesson, the children will learn about respectful and disrespectful behaviour, and how we should behave in different situations.
We will read Teach Your dragon Respect by Steve Herman, before completing activities linked to the text. 2 HOURS - NEW FOR 2024 - An in-depth look at County Lines, who is at risk and how young people and the vulnerable are exploited. Students will uncover the dark truth behind the gang lifestyle, looking at some of Britain’s most notorious gangs, assessing the recent successes of the police in smashing the system and making arrests. The lesson covers how gangs lure young people in, what it means to be a mule and the penalties gang members have faced for violence, drug dealing and weapon-trading.
Studewill explore how County Lines exploitation often affects males and females differently, how the vulnerable are turned into ‘cuckoos’, where to go for help if gangs touch our own lives in any way and much more.
The lesson includes case studies, clip tasks, creative tasks, analysis and literacy tasks and much more. Created for KS3 but could be used as a reminder for KS4.

Growing and Changing EYFS PSHE lesson.
A detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for EYFS/Reception age children. This lesson has been designed for use with children in Reception, however, the PowerPoint and activities could be adapted for use with other age groups.
In this lesson, the children will learn why we grow. We will look at examples of plants and animals in nature, and also take a more detailed look at some of the stages of human life. We will read* The Growing Story* by Ruth Krauss before discussing a set of teacher-led comprehension questions, followed by a choice of adult-led or independent activities.
The lesson includes a sing-along starter (to ensure a swift start to the lesson), a story with accompanying questions, an adult-led focus task, independent activities to be carried out during continuous provision, and a plenary task.

Students will explore the factors that can lead to a decrease in fertility, in both males and females, before exploring the options for those trying to conceive. Students will investigate common reproductive issues such as polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis. Road safety KS1 PSHE lesson.
A one-two hour long, very detailed, fully resourced PSHE lesson suitable for KS1. This lesson has been created for Year 2, however, the activities may also be suitable for younger KS2 children (Year 3).
In this lesson, the students will learn all about road safety. We will discuss the safest way to cross the road, as well as looking at a range of pedestrian crossings: pelican; puffin; zebra; toucan; and school crossing patrols (lollipop people).
The students will match the pedestrian crossings with the correct descriptions and create a storyboard to describe the correct way to use a pelican crossing. The lesson includes a case study starter, a set of video clips with accompanying questions, a draw-a-line task, a storyboard activity and a plenary task.

The lesson investigates why these can be so harmful in both the long and short term. The pack includes a very detailed PowerPoint, 5 page drug information pack, a detailed case study of how anyone can become addicted to drugs, differentiated challenge activities, worksheets, clips and debate focus tasks. These resources have been designed to be engaging, detailed and easy to follow.
The lesson has been left editable and is filled with engaging, well differentiated and fun activities. The slides in the preview are just a sample and don’t show the whole lesson. It is best suited for KS4 or KS5.
